My new cats..

Kristi and I took a trip this weekend to New Orleans. We had a pretty good time in the French Quarter, I had planned on staying relatively sober but some plans don't go as planned. The French Quarter is known for a few famous drinks, but I was drinking "Hand Grenades" from the Tropical Isle. If you ever go to New Orleans do yourself a favor and have one..just one.

The main reason for this trip for me was to pick up the newest additions to the Groves family. I have been wanting a Sphynx for a few years. I guess since I was in Iraq, I started researching the breed and breeders. I had book marked the C'est Bon cattery website some time ago, and Kristi contacted them about purchasing a kitten. It turned out even better, Carla from C'est Bon had just rescued a pair of cats from someone that couldn't care for them, so we now have two. A boy which we have renamed Blammo, and his half-sister which we have renamed Ouisy(weezy), because she was sneezing a little the first time we saw her, and she sniffs at everything. Blammo is the most loving cat I have ever seen, but his last owners weren't careful and his tail was broken in two places, and he has an issue with one of his eyes, but it only adds to his character.

I am happy to have them here.

Just a day..

The weather has been sucking the past couple of days here in Pensacola. Didn't really do a whole lot, taped off the basement for painting. Ordered a few things from Amazon, I love Amazon, I don't know if it because I am lazy and don't feel like actually shopping or not having to pay taxes that appeals to me.

I ordered a heated cat bed for the arrival of my cats in the next few days. I am getting two sphynx, I have wanted one for a long time and I am finally getting one, well two since we are sort of getting a deal. I don't have names picked out yet, but we have been throwing around a few. Since it's a boy and a girl we have come up with Fred and Ginger, Bill and Sookie, Boris and Natasha. Kinda cheesy but whatever.

Raining in Pensacola

Well it's raining pretty good here today. A tornado was supposed to roll through here but I don't think it's going to happen. It looks like it's going to rain all day, which is not helping me get anything done. Not that there is much to do anyway.

Well, I don't know how often I will do this or what I will even write about, but I am going to give it a try and see what comes out.
